Developed in collaboration with Yorkshire Ambulance Service, this course aims to produce autonomous healthcare professionals with eligibility to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Paramedic. Paramedics have traditionally responded to 999 emergencies but increasing demand for services has seen innovative ways of working across the emergency care system, with Paramedics working in a range of environments. Paramedics now need to manage an increasingly diverse range of situations. Learn how to manage undifferentiated patients; take medical histories; perform physical examinations; request and interpret tests; diagnose injury and illness; provide appropriate treatment, management and counsel on preventative healthcare. Paramedics are an essential part of the current and future NHS workforce. All short-listed candidates will be interviewed. Acceptance is subject to completion of a satisfactory medical and Disclosure and Barring Service Check. Applicants must demonstrate in their application that they have researched the course and profession. Applicants must have recent relevant study in the last five years.

A full clean driving licence with at least provisional C1 prior to the start of the course.

The standard University requirement is IELTS 6.0 with no sub-test less than 5.0 (or equivalent). However, if you require a Tier 4 (student) visa to study you will need to meet the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) department's requirement which is currently IELTS 6.0 with no sub-test less than 5.5. Conditional offers to international students will be made on this basis.
