This BSc in Occupational Health & Safety program aims to provide its learners with a flexible, relevant, and competitive curriculum to demonstrate the breadth and depth of knowledge and skills in occupational health & safety theory and technology necessary to function at the occupational safety level of an organization. The BSc in Occupational Health & Safety program would prepare students to evaluate workplaces with regard to safety concerns, recognizing risks, and making appropriate recommendations to the concerned higher authorities. Learners will explore topics ranging from basic sciences, health sciences, aspects of health & safety concerns/risks in a variety of workplaces, relevant regulatory compliance to policy enforcement. With a continued urge to initiate relevant industry collaborations, students opting to study the BSc in OHS would experience excellent opportunities to build a strong theoretical basis as well as opportunities for experiential learning from the industry directly.

Admission Requirements

·         For students to enroll in Bachelor of Optometry requires: The completion of the high school (Grade 12) courses with a minimum grade of “C” in each course: Chemistry, Biology, physics, English, and pure Mathematics. A student may be exempted from the Foundation Program area requirements by presenting an equivalent qualification, (IELTS or TOEFL, SAT and ICDL) or passing the challenge exam. Approval of prior learning: candidates employed in Oman with Post-Secondary (Post GED or equivalent) Diploma qualifications may be granted advanced standing based on their qualifications and a minimum of 2 years continuous work experience in a hospital or other healthcare and health services industry subject to the specific conditions of the UoB’s policies on the matter. Registered students in foundation courses shall not be allowed to register in any other credit courses unless they successfully complete all the foundation courses.
