UC's Master of Artificial Intelligence (MAI) allows you to build on previous studies in computing and venture into the field of AI engineering and innovation.

Over the past decade, AI has become part of a large collection of powerful technologies that are applied widely to almost every area of life. In Aotearoa, there are important applications in our primary industry, high-value manufacturing, climate change, tourism, gaming, social interaction, and many more. This huge expansion requires many new graduates who understand AI and have expertise to use AI techniques to solve real-world problems.

You will need a bachelor's degree in a subject related to Computer Science to enrol, with either:
  • a B Grade Average in 60 points of your 300-level COSC/SENG/ENCE/DATA301 courses
  • a B Grade Average in 60 points of your 300-level courses, plus other approved qualifications, qualifying programmes, and/or experience in the field of at least 5 years.
If you are an international student and need help meeting these requirements, study UC’s Pre-Master’s Two Semester programme to gain entry into this degree.
