The aims of this specialty are:
- Describe the constituents of concrete, the main methods of formulation, and the technological solutions in terms of mixing, placement, additions, and admixtures.
- Choose and use the appropriate calculation methods for the pre-sizing and sizing of the elements making up the structure
- Understand the deformation mechanisms of materials in the plastic domain and enable students to dimension structures in the plastic domain.
- Equip students with knowledge of other materials used in construction, as well as their properties.
- Designing innovative materials for targeted civil engineering applications and putting into perspective a material with very varied properties defined a priori within the framework of a construction project.
- Obtain basic knowledge of composite materials. Acquire the fundamental notions to develop composites and then address all the problems of dimensioning of laminate or sandwich structures.
- Make students aware of the importance of recycling waste in the context of environmental protection and sustainable development
- Understanding of aggressive factors and environments and the means to be implemented to protect constructions against degradation
