The Master’s Programme in Russian, Eurasian, and Eastern European Studies, MAREEES (previously the Master’s Programme in Russian Studies) will equip you with an in-depth knowledge of historical trajectories, present and future challenges of countries anchored to an area specific development. You have access to the latest research results delivered by leading academic experts in the field. You will be acquainted with a massive area, with which development is interlinked. The programme offers regional expertise and great variety of opportunities after graduation.

You can apply to the master’s programmes at the University of Helsinki to complete the master’s degree if you have one of the following: A degree completed at a university, A degree completed at a university of applied sciences, A degree completed at the Finnish National Defence University, and Education completed outside Finland that provides eligibility for equivalent higher education in the relevant country.
