The Department of Population Science and Human Resource Development started in 1996 under the Faculty of Science, University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Every year, sixty students enroll in each academic year. Currently, the department has approximately 240 students at B.Sc. Honors program. At present, the academic activities are being managed by twenty-one faculty members and twelve office staff. The academic curriculum of the department has been offered in English since its inception. This Department offers 40 theoretical courses at the B.Sc. Honours level (along with one non-credit course - functional English - and one Capstone course - Field Study and Report), including Population Studies, Demography, Human Resource Development (HRD), Population Health, Environmental and Climate Studies, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer programming, etc.
