The Bachelor’s programme in International Relations is a four-year undergraduate degree designed to prepare students for professional careers in the public, private, and non-profit sectors in an increasingly interconnected world. Offered within the School of International Relations, the programme provides a high-quality, internationally oriented education grounded in the University of World Economy and Diplomacy’s longstanding expertise in diplomacy, foreign policy, and global affairs.

The curriculum gives students a solid foundation in international relations theory, foreign policy analysis, diplomacy, international organisations, regional and global political processes, and contemporary international issues. It also develops students’ analytical, research, and practical skills, enabling them to study and assess both domestic and foreign policy processes, apply advanced international approaches, and understand the mechanisms shaping international cooperation and political interaction.

A distinctive feature of the programme is its multilingual and internationally focused learning environment. Instruction is offered in Uzbek, Russian, and English, and students also have the opportunity to study an additional international language through the university’s language centre. Over the course of four years, students strengthen their proficiency in multiple languages, enhancing their ability to work effectively in multicultural and international professional settings.

Graduates of the programme are prepared for careers in government bodies engaged in foreign policy, diplomatic missions and consular offices, international departments of ministries and public institutions, international organisations, and representative offices of Uzbekistan abroad. The programme also provides a strong foundation for work in research, policy analysis, and other fields related to international affairs.

Students benefit from the guidance of experienced professors and teachers from Uzbekistan, as well as contributions from specialists affiliated with leading universities and research centres in Europe, the United States, Russia, and Asia. The academic environment is further enriched by regular lectures from foreign ambassadors, public figures, economists, and practitioners, giving students direct exposure to current international practice.

The School of International Relations prepares qualified diplomats, political scientists, and specialists capable of representing and advancing the national interests of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the international arena. Its alumni serve as ambassadors and diplomats and hold positions in government institutions, non-governmental organisations, international organisations, research centres, and major companies in Uzbekistan and abroad.
