As a student on the course you will be a full member of the University, with the same access to the Students’ Union, clubs, societies, sports facilities and support departments.

You will be taught through a combination of lectures, seminars, workshops, labs and tutorials. During the year you will undertake modules in Applicable Mathematics and Physics, with a choice of Materials with Engineering Science, Programming with Electronics or Programming with Design, Psychology with Sociology, Biology, Business and Chemistry.

Special emphasis is placed on subject-specific tuition to prepare students for their chosen degree course, as well as developing the study skills needed for success in an independent learning environment.

As a student on the International Foundation Programme you will receive high quality teaching from renowned Loughborough University academics and be supported throughout your studies by an academic tutor.

Language modules will build your confidence with the English language. In addition, you will benefit from our University Library, IT services, Mathematics Learning Support Centre and wide range of health and welfare services, including tailored support for international students.

Completing a foundation year can be a real attribute to your overall degree success. It not only opens doors to courses that may have previously looked closed, but also provides a sound base on which to establish a successful academic career. Many who have completed the foundation year have also said how beneficial it was to them in supporting their transition into University life.
