The stage is your world. Movement. Costumes. Directing. Grab ahold of your dreams and turn them into drama, or comedy, or simply performance. The Bachelor of Arts in theatre degree at NSU prepares you to excel as a professional in the performing arts. What You’ll Study: You'll cover all areas of a theatre degree, including acting for stage and screen, directing, design, dramaturgy, and technical theatre. Learn how to communicate effectively, identify historical periods and styles, and demonstrate skill in technical theatre, such as costuming, lighting, set design and construction. You'll also choose a concentration in Acting for Stage and Screen, Musical Theatre, or Design and Technical Production. How You’ll Learn More: Engage with an entire community of performers and behind-the-scenes technicians as you create productions that attract audiences from across the university and the local community. Connect your stage work with experience in our costume and scenery shops, dance studios, music labs, and design studios for the theatre major. Where It Can Take You: Graduates of our theatre program have worked professionally at local theatres and performing arts schools, with national touring companies, and for international studios and audiences. Your broad training and experience will allow you to follow more than one path to a profession in arts administration, casting, directing, producing, event planning, or public speaking. Realize your dramatic potential on your own terms.
