Getting things done is easy to say, but the process of governance is exceedingly complex. You'll be ahead of the game in public administration with an entrepreneurship-oriented perspective from the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship. This interdisciplinary major emphasizes public service and ethics across a range of subjects, from economics to labor relations. What you'll study: Running the engine of government and related organizations requires the fuel of human ingenuity. For the Bachelor of Science in Public Administration, core courses develop your ingenuity and prepare you to explore complex issues relate to diversity, budgeting, and public management. The capstone project includes a real-world internship and an intensive seminar in public administration. How you'll learn more: Upon acceptance to the program, you will work with a full-time faculty mentor to develop skills for success beyond the classroom. Within the classroom, you will be exposed to a curriculum that emphasizes experiential and applied learning. To further enrich your understanding, you will also have the opportunity to participate in both domestic and international immersive learning experiences. Finally, those select students who demonstrate academic excellence and management potential, as well as the capacity to comprehend and contribute to the MPA curriculum, may apply for dual admission to the MPA degree program. Where it can take you: Because the major in Public Administration offers a practical approach, your skills will be in demand after graduation. You could also continue to graduate school, or try your hand in federal, state, or local government. Do you want to start or join a nonprofit or other small business? A public administration degree brings many options for you to consider.
