Movement involves more than choreography, performance, and production. Dance also has a history, a place in contemporary culture, and specific methods for achieving excellence. At NSU, you'll appreciate our beautiful facilities, experienced faculty, and opportunities to express yourself through dance to local and international audiences. What you'll study: Styles of dance are like different languages that require time to acquire. Through intensive dance laboratories, you'll explore forms ranging from classical to jazz to modern. A bachelor of arts in dance also enables you to develop the technical skills to produce an original show. How you'll learn more: An extremely low student-to-faculty ratio guarantees expert attention as you develop your unique artistic voice. The NSU Dance ensemble offers additional opportunities to perform, while master classes and visiting professionals inspire you to explore new modes of communication through movement. Participate in the annual Season of the Arts to perform original choreography in a variety of styles. Where it can take you: Professional dancer, choreographer, occupational therapist, dance educator, studio owner, artistic director, company manager. These titles represent just some of the professional choices available to dancers who understand how this art relates to global culture, entertainment, fitness, and education.
