This masters degree offers the opportunity for students to learn and apply contemporary theoretical principles and scientific methodologies that enhance strength and conditioning practice.The programme is designed to build on the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) award and the UKSCA Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach (ASCC) award, to provide a necessary range of theoretical and practical experiences for a career as a strength and conditioning practitioner. The master’s degree programme offers a supportive, student-centred environment and ensures the highest quality research-informed teaching. In addition to world-class research facilities, the university boasts a recently renovated and dedicated strength and conditioning applied facility that can accommodate large groups of athletes simultaneously.

  • At least a 2.2 honours degree or equivalent in a sports science course or relevant subject
  • Or substantial experience within the strength and conditioning field
  • EU and international students need IELTS 6.0 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in each component) or equivalent
