If you’re passionate about health, exercise and nutrition, kickstart your journey to a rewarding career supporting healthy and active lives with UQ’s Bachelor of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences.

Through this program you’ll develop the knowledge and skills to address two of the most important risk factors for chronic disease – physical activity and nutrition – and gain a strong foundation to support healthier communities.

You’ll explore human movement and nutrition across the lifespan and discover the roles that food, physical activity, exercise and sleep play in our health, the prevention of chronic disease, and sporting performance.

With majors available in nutrition sciences, sports coaching, or sporting cultures, you’ll have the option to deep dive into your area of interest while developing expertise in your chosen field of study. Be in demand with the skills and knowledge to pursue a variety of clinical and non-clinical health careers and graduate ready to meet the challenges facing the health care sector.

With flexible course options, you can design this program to fit your own career goals and tailor your studies towards meeting the entry requirements into a range of postgraduate degrees, such as:

  • Master of Dietetics Studies
  • Doctor of Medicine
  • Master of Physiotherapy Studies
  • Master of Sports Coaching
  • Master of Audiology Studies
  • Master of Occupational Therapy Studies
  • Master of Public Health
  • Master of Speech Pathology Studies

For domestic students interested in becoming a dietitian, the nutrition major in the Bachelor of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences meets the course requirements for entry into the Master of Dietetics Studies.
