Inside an Accelerator MBA programme

WBS is the first business school in the UK to use SmartStage® technology, which uses extended reality to embed participants in the online experience during this element of the programme. Presenters speak from our virtual studio, interacting with the content around them to create immersive video lectures.  

Participants will benefit from networking opportunities at WBS London at The Shard and integrated career development support via the CareersPlus team. This support includes unlimited access to WBS Careers Coaches for one-to-one sessions and feedback, one-to-one coaching sessions with external sector specialists, dedicated careers support after MBA completion via our alumni career services, as well as events specially designed for the MBA cohort with guest speakers.   

The part-time structure enables our candidates to study whilst continuing their career development in their own organisations. They’ll apply their learning straight away, responding to business challenges and making immediate impact.  

Additionally, the opportunity to network with other talented professionals from a wide variety of sectors and roles gives candidates unique insights - the diverse cohort learn from each other as well as from the course content itself.  

The course also allows candidates to select elective modules that align with their organisation’s challenges and priorities, investigating them further via a consulting project or dissertation and creating value across their existing responsibilities.    

In addition to the CareersPlus offerings, the course’s Leadership Accelerator module offers a unique blend of in-depth experiential learning, along with the latest leadership research, personal reflection, group activities, and real-world workplace applications to prompt candidates to reflect and develop their own leadership styles and confidence in practice. 

Further to this, the Strategic Thinking module encourages candidates to develop a critical and innovative perspective on the general management dilemmas faced by executives in modern organisations, offering a distinctive and compelling approach to management decision-making.  

WBS networking events also provide a unique opportunity to discuss individual career paths, working through challenges with a diverse range of peers and a global alumni network.     

Candidates on the Accelerator MBA will take eight modules, with the chance to tailor the course to their interests by selecting four elective modules, including one international elective at a partner business school.  

Candidates also have the opportunity to graduate with a specialism in social and environmental sustainability, entrepreneurship or healthcare. 

The course is designed to be completed within two years, but has the flexibility to be extended up to five years.  

All self-funding candidates have the opportunity to apply for a WBS scholarship, which requires an additional scholarship statement of 500 words, submitted at the same time as the rest of their MBA application. Candidates should also note that no GMAT/GRE is required, and that all WBS MBA graduates receive the same certificate.
