This MSc welcomes students from a range of STEM and creative disciplines, offering flexible entry and a generalist approach to intelligent systems. You’ll work with real robots, advanced simulation tools and collaborative projects that mirror industry demands. Whether you’re aiming for research, leadership or technical excellence, this course prepares you to shape what’s next.
On this robotics MSc, you’ll build a solid, hands-on foundation in robotics and intelligent systems. You’ll start by learning the core principles of robot design using wheeled robots and creative tools like Fusion 360. From there, you’ll move into simulation, working with platforms like ROS 2, Gazebo, Riz and Linux to model and control robotic systems in virtual environments.
You’ll also get the chance to dive into machine vision, sensing and hardware integration, gaining real experience with sensors, actuators and controllers. You’ll have the chance to explore specialist areas through optional modules in animatronics or automation and the Internet of Things (IoT), depending on where you want to take your skills.
Everything leads up to a major research project, where you’ll apply what you’ve learned to a real-world challenge. This could be an industry-linked brief or a team-based RoboCup-style competition. Throughout the course, you’ll be using the tools and technologies that define Industry 4.0, while building the kind of practical, team-based experience that employers value.
