Top universities in Hungary are ranked among the best universities in Eastern Europe in the latest QS Europe Rankings, with 17 Hungarian institutions included in this year’s table.
Eötvös Loránd University is ranked as the country’s top university and is the sixth-best university in Eastern Europe, helped by a strong score for employment outcomes and an improved score for its international research network.
One of several regional rankings published by QS, the QS Europe Rankings assess institutions by a range of indicators that differ slightly from those used to compile the overall QS World University Rankings.
This difference is to allow students and institutions to more easily make direct comparisons within the region.
Different indicators include:
‘Citations per Paper’ and ‘Papers per Faculty’: These indicators are separated from the broader ‘Citations per faculty’ indicator to better represent Europe's high proportion of research-oriented institutions.
‘International Student Diversity': This replaces International Student Ratio to better reflect the robust data on diversity and the wider range of international students at European universities.
Inbound and Outbound Exchange Student Ratios
