The Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering was established in 2010 with the aim of producing well qualified graduate engineers in both disciplines of IPE (Industrial and Production Engineering) and ME (Mechanical Engineering). Besides producing efficient engineers, the department of Mechanical and Production Engineering always strives for developing graduates as future leaders of the country who can contribute to the development of the country through augmenting our industries. The Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering has well equipped and modern laboratories such as: Machine Shop, Simulation Lab, Thermodynamics lab, Measurement, Instrumentation and Control Lab, Heat and Mass Transfer Lab, Applied Mechanics and Materials Lab, Theory of Machine Lab, Fluid Mechanics and Machinery Lab, Metallurgy and Heat Treatment Lab, Ergonomics Lab, Material Handling Lab, Sheet Metal Lab, Heat Engine Lab, Applied Thermodynamics Lab, Project Lab and CIM Lab. These laboratories are equipped with sophisticated and most modern machineries to support relentless teaching and research activities in the department. The vision of Mechanical and Production Engineering Department is to make a place among the leading institutions of education and research in Mechanical and Production Engineering in Bangladesh and abroad.
