This course is intended for undergraduate students who wish to study the discipline of Electrical and Electronic Engineering to Honors degree level and who may wish to achieve professional status later on. This module is designed to embrace developments in the industry, in particular the ECUK UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC). The course has a first year (Level S) that is shared with the other courses in the College of Engineering. It is designed to bring school leavers in Bahrain and the Gulf region to a standard acceptable for progression to a Level 4 engineering degree course equivalent to UK approved engineering courses. The first year is designed to prepare students with the necessary knowledge and skills to continue with their studies at the specialist levels (Years 2/3/4) of the 4-year course.

Applicants should obtain a Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent certified by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain with an average of no less than 60% or equivalent. In some programmes, the applicants admitted from non-scientific secondary school fields should pass remedial courses. All applicants admitted to the University should take a compulsory placement test - determined by the University - to determine their English language level.

Prospective undergraduate students are required to provide:

  • Original Certificate & Transcript of secondary school
  • Equivalency of non – Bahraini general secondary school certificate or private school’s certificate
  • A valid CPR copy
  • A valid passport copy
  • Health fitness certificate from one the centers approved by the Ministry of Health
  • 3 personal photos

 

Tuition fees at undergraduate level are the same for local and international students. Tuition is charged by credit hour which is 92.700 BD on average.

 Students usually need an average of 135 credits to graduate. However, programs hosted by London South Bank the average credit hour is 180 BD and the average credits needed to graduate is 150 Credits.

The average tuition per credit hour for postgraduate student at ASU is 144.200 BD and the average credits needed to graduate is 36 across most of the programs. 

 The university has established a student fund which supports the students who are facing financial constrains by paying a part of their fees.
