The Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTEd) major in Garments, Fashion, and Design program is an undergraduate teacher education program that equips learners with adequate and relevant competencies in the areas of technical and vocational education, particularly for the TLE exploratory courses from Grades 9–12. It aims to develop highly competent and motivated teachers in technology and livelihood education. The technical-vocational teacher education curriculum shall impart a body of knowledge, skills, attitudes, values, and experiences that will provide prospective TLE teachers with the necessary competencies essential for effective teaching and, at the same time, accredit TVET trainers and assessors. Moreover, it also aims to develop and prepare students to be effective teachers who can create and deliver engaging and effective lessons that cater to the diverse needs of their students. It also acknowledges the role of fashion and design in shaping culture and society and promotes ethical and sustainable practices in the industry.
