The course sits within our Faculty of Media & Communication which means that, as well as studying history in the traditional sense, you will be using newspapers, on-line sites, sound recordings, television and film as a way of exploring a broad range of topics. Public history is also an important aspect of the course and throughout your degree you will work with a range of outside agencies such as museums, archives and heritage organisations. For your final year Graduate Project you'll work in small teams on a proposal for a public history event, this has recently included work with organisations such as Kingsleigh Primary School, Priest House Museum, The Lighthouse Poole, Wimborne Minster, Dorset History Centre and Bournemouth Civic Society.
