Dramatic Arts (DART) offers students a comprehensive and innovative program of theatre studies revolving around the core notion of an integration theory and practice (Praxis). In the first year in the program, students will experience intensive studio training while being introduced to theoretical aspects of theatre, which can be applied to their studio training. Integrated core courses and strong connections with Mainstage shows and other experiential learning opportunities – both on and off-campus – generate a rigorous and supportive learning culture, enabling us to graduate a Brock style ‘triple threat’: artist, scholar, and educator. Students may choose one of the three concentrations: Drama in Education and Applied Theatre, Performance, or Production and Design. It is also possible to pursue a “general” degree without a concentration area.
