Women’s and Gender Studies program encourages students to develop a critical awareness of how gender, race, indigeneity, class and sexuality intersect and affect cultural expression, human interaction, ecological systems and power relations for both men and women. The program focuses on the transnational feminist exploration of the ways gender intersects with different variables to produce the complexity of women’s and men’s lived experience. On this program, students will apply methodological tools from a wide range of disciplines to scrutinize gender in relation to institutions, ideologies, histories, cultural artifacts, social interactions, science, bodies and cultures.
