Department of Theatre Pedagogy is a newly established teaching institution by the Central Academy of Drama based on its abundant educational resources and excellent teachers. In teaching, the department will inherit the teaching tradition of the Academy and will reference and introduce the advanced teaching methods in the world to form our own teaching characteristics and advantages. Based on training excellent drama teachers in primary and secondary school, the department attaches importance to the combination of professional theory and art practice and focuses on cultivating the artistic creativity and the organizing and planning ability of drama teaching of students to make the students to be compound talents with a solid foundation of drama education. The knowledge structure of the teaching staff of the department is reasonable and the teaching management is strict, whichprovides a good teaching environment for the cultivation of drama education talents.

Major of Theatre Pedagogy: to cultivate composite art talents who owns higher cultural and artistic accomplishment, masters basically the drama creation theory and skills, can engage in the drama education of primary school, middle school and college and have the potential of organizing the performance. Main courses established: Theatre Pedagogy, Theatre Education Classroom, Performance, Directing, Stage Language Skills, Stage Physical Skills, Works Analysis & Adaptation, Basis of Stage Art, Music Foundation, Educational Psychology, Basis of Opera Directing, Dramatic Aesthetics, Playwriting Foundation and some public compulsory courses etc.
