Historically, the study of psychological trauma was neglected, but in the last two decades, advances in neuroscience have led to a greater understanding of this topic. The epidemiology of post-traumatic stress and other related disorders is alarming, affecting both adults and children. A clear connection has been established between traumatic experiences and various pathologies, such as addictions and anxiety disorders, highlighting the need to address psychological trauma effectively.
The growing awareness of mental health has increased the demand for professionals trained in managing traumatic events. Offering a specialized Master's degree in psychotraumatology not only addresses this need but also ensures that future professionals are equipped to provide high-quality care to those who have suffered trauma.
This Master's program is characterized by its focus on evidence-based techniques and strategies, preparing students to meet the challenges of the field. Furthermore, it fosters multidisciplinary collaboration, integrating knowledge from psychology, psychiatry, and neuroscience, which distinguishes it in both educational and professional settings. You will also have the option to simultaneously pursue a Master's degree in General Health Psychology.
