During the course you will gain technical skills in programming, data communications, database design, and system analysis and design.
You'll build expertise in the management and application of information systems and technology, and examine the impact of technology on the changing business environment – with a particular focus on AI and its adoption in business.
This degree gives you the choice of specialising in one of three areas of industry growth:
- Data Analytics and Visualisation
- Governance and Sustainability
- Information Security.
Work-integrated learning is a strong component of this course, with opportunities for internships and study tours. You can also enhance your professional connections through networking events and engaging with industry guest lecturers. In addition, students in this course are eligible for membership of the Australian Computer Society – which offers many networking and continuing education opportunities.
You may choose to exit this course early with a Graduate Certificate in Information and Technology or a Graduate Certificate in Information Systems Management (once you have completed the units required for those qualifications).

Admission Requirements
A bachelor degree or Graduate Certificate in Information Systems and Technology, or a bachelor degree in any discipline and at least five years' of substantial work experience in Information Systems and Technology. Applicants must also meet Curtin's English language proficiency requirements.
Curtin requires all applicants to demonstrate proficiency in English.
