You will explore the development, design and operation of processes for the extraction, conversion and recovery of materials. You'll study minerals processing, hydrometallurgy and pyrometallurgy; and, following your Engineering Foundation Year, you’ll specialise in biosystems engineering, chemical engineering or oil and gas.

You’ll also gain a solid understanding of environmental conservation and sustainability, helping to equip you for lead roles in the development of processes that extract, convert and recover materials and metals.

As part of this course, you'll complete at least 12 weeks of exposure to professional engineering practice.
