Prepare for employment or postgraduate study in disciplines such as mass communications, advertising, public relations, marketing, journalism, media and digital communication, with this broad media and communication degree.

Whether you choose to start in year one or join via direct entry from college into the second or third year, the Media and Communication degree will give you the opportunity to explore a variety of media and communication career options and find the best fit for you.

Media and Communication is all around us and actively shaping our society. On this course, you will develop creative skills in content creation, campaign and strategy, journalism as well as understanding the underlying data and analytics.

This degree shares the same structure in the first two years as the BA (Hons) Mass Communications, Advertising and Public Relations programme. This structure allows you to develop the broad understanding and principles of media and communication before taking up more opportunities to specialise.

The course also provides students with the knowledge and skills for postgraduate study in related areas. 

The course will:

develop your transferable skills to prepare you for graduate employment, including your critical, creative, analytical, problem-based learning and communication skills develop your understanding of academic concepts and professional practice related to media and communications prepare you for postgraduate study or employment in media and the professional and creative communication industries (such as: mass communications, media, journalism, PR, marketing, digital content creation and management and international communication) enhance your personal and professional growth and develop your interpersonal and networking skills link you with industry partners through live project briefs, guest talks and placement opportunities
