The mission of the Department is to give students the opportunity to develop appropriate proficiencies in the modern and classical languages, to acquaint students with the literary and cultural productions of other countries, and to provide them the opportunity to acquire critical skills through literary and cultural analysis. Career Opportunities Students who major in Modern and Classical Languages pursue careers in teaching and research, business, translation and interpretation and other areas.
