The Institute of Transdisciplinary Studies (ITS) programme was launched in 2020 with an aim to enhance the University’s research capacity and provide the students with comprehensive and practical doctoral training in transdisciplinary research.
Supported by the PhD Transdisciplinary Research Scholarship Scheme, students admitted under the ITS programme are housed under the ITS in their 1st year, engaging in transdisciplinary research studies aligning with the directions of the University’s strategic Research Clusters:
- Creative Media/Practice
- Health and Drug Discovery
- Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence in X, and
- Humanities and Cultures
Students will undergo practical and intensive project-based training throughout this year. They are required to study the following courses that are specifically tailored to their transdisciplinary education needs.
- ITS Doctoral Research Training I & II (ITS7010 & 7020), and
- ITS Research Seminars (ITS7031 & 7032)
From the 2nd to 4th year, students will return to their home departments of their respective Principal Supervisors to continue their PhD education.
