Marine Engineering is a profession which is involved in the operation and maintenance of the main propulsion machinery of the ship as well as other systems such as electrical power generation, lightning, fuel oil, lubrication, water distillation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and water system on board the vessel. It also deals with the design, construction, installation, operation and support of the systems and equipment which propel and control marine vessels.

Admission Requirements
Applicants for freshmen in the ISAT University may be admitted on the basis of the following:
- Performance in the Entrance Examination administered by the Office of the Students Affairs.
- Quotas and other requirements as required by the specific courses/college units set- up by the respective offices of the Deans
- Satisfactory performance in high school
- All colleges will require the applicants to undergo an interview
- Must be physically and mentally fit
- Articulate in communication
- Form 138 (card or transcript of records) with an average grade of 85 or 2.0 with no failing or incomplete grade
- Certification of good moral character signed by the school head or his authorized representative
- Two (2) copies 2″x2″ ID pictures
- Medical laboratory results (for those applying for BSMarE)
