Program Outcomes Upon completion of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program, the graduate will be able to: Synthesize knowledge from the liberal arts and sciences and nursing science to understand global perspectives, stimulate critical thinking, and use current technologies. Make sound decisions in the use of patient information and health care technology to design, coordinate, and manage nursing care for individuals, families and populations. Demonstrate clinical excellence to provide caring, compassionate, and culturally appropriate patient-centered care to people in a variety of settings. Communicate, collaborate, and negotiate effectively to improve patient healthcare outcomes. Exhibit professional values and behaviors as outlined by a professional code of ethics, professional standards, and legal statutes. Promote healthy lifestyles through health promotion, risk reduction, and disease prevention education for individuals and populations. Incorporate evidence-based knowledge and theory into nursing practice. Students must have high school transcripts showing a minimum of two years at an English speaking institution and demonstrating significant language achievement through rigorous coursework; transcripts showing the completion of an ESL (English as a Second Language) program at a regionally accredited college or university and the completion of a course in English Composition equivalent to ENGL 101 with a grade of C or higher; transcripts showing 24 or more college-level credits with a C average or higher from a regionally accredited college or university. Other English Language Requirements Students whose first language is not English may demonstrate proficiency by submitting original copies of score reports, certificates or transcripts of one of the following: The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of either 540 on the paper-based exam; PTE Academic with a minimum score of 52; a critical reading score on the SAT of 480 or higher; a EBRW score on the new SAT of 500 or higher; Reading and writing scores of 20 or higher on the ACT.
