Social Research MA

This programmes provides an introduction to key issues in social science methodology, expands your proficiency in a range of research skills, and prepares you for further advanced research in the social sciences. 5 different pathways are available: Sociology; gender and women’s studies; media and cultural studies; environment, culture and society; science, technology, innovation and social practices. The programme and its tailored pathways represent an ideal stepping stone to a PhD and open access to Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) funding programmes. Students will carry out hands on training in selected research methods and skills, and will become skilled in the translation of theoretically informed research questions into research projects.
