Studying pharmacy provides students with extensive knowledge about medicines and gives them the theoretical and practical preparation they need to practise as pharmacists. Students acquire general and specialist knowledge in the fields of pharmaceutical, medical, biological, chemical and social sciences. The detailed scope of a pharmacist's professional duties depends on the specific nature of the workplace (creating new drug formulations, supervising the production of medicines, conducting analyses in laboratories and hospitals). Classes will take the form of lectures, seminars and exercises, including practical exercises in laboratories and specialist teaching studios under the supervision of a lecturer, as well as professional internships. Lectures and exercises will take place in well-equipped lecture halls and specialist studios with modern teaching and multimedia equipment. Graduates are prepared to work in: – public and hospital pharmacies and pharmaceutical wholesalers, – the pharmaceutical industry and other entities responsible for placing medicinal products on the market and authorised to manufacture, import and export medicinal products and medical devices, – healthcare facilities conducting clinical trials, drug concentration-monitored therapy and monitoring of adverse reactions to medicinal products, – pharmaceutical inspection and other state and local government offices and institutions operating in the field of pharmacy and healthcare, – control and measurement units and laboratories in the field of general hygiene, food control and testing, laboratory diagnostics and environmental protection, – establishments, factories and laboratories in the cosmetics and chemical industries, – research institutions and research and development centres, – institutions involved in counselling and dissemination of knowledge in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.
