Graduates of the first-cycle programme in cosmetology will have general knowledge in the field of health sciences and detailed knowledge in the field of cosmetology. At each stage of education, this field of study also covers topics in the following areas: aesthetics, health promotion, physiotherapy and massage, cosmetics chemistry, cosmetic formulations, beauty salon organisation, management and marketing in cosmetology, and professional ethics. The aim of first-cycle (bachelor's) studies in cosmetology is to educate specialists who: – have broad theoretical and practical knowledge enabling them to perform cosmetic procedures, including skin revitalisation, anti-ageing, beautification and skin correction treatments, – perfectly select cosmetics and indicate their applications based on pharmacological knowledge, – professionally use physical equipment used in cosmetic treatments. Graduates of the first-cycle programme in cosmetology are substantively and practically prepared to practise as cosmetologists in beauty salons offering a full range of services. After completing a three-year first-cycle programme, graduates of cosmetology are prepared to: – plan the type of cosmetic treatment and use of cosmetics in accordance with the diagnosis, – correctly perform cosmetic, care and beauty treatments, taking into account indications and contraindications, – correctly reading the composition of cosmetics and determining their use, – working closely with a dermatologist in the field of skin care for diseased skin, – running a beauty salon.
