The studies are vocational in nature and focus on the practical side of education, with particular emphasis on clinical knowledge. The programme is accredited by the Polish Accreditation Committee. Classes are conducted in the form of lectures, seminars and exercises, including practical exercises in hospitals and diagnostic laboratories, as well as specialised training at the Prof. L. Giec Upper Silesian Medical Centre, SPSK No. 7 SUM, and the University Centre for Ophthalmology and Oncology, SPSK SUM. Graduates of the first-cycle programme in electroradiology are prepared to work in radiology, radiotherapy, isotope diagnostics and electrodiagnostics departments in healthcare facilities or scientific and research units, where they can: – operate electromedical equipment in the fields of radiology, radiotherapy, electrocardiography, electroencephalography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and audiometry, – assess the technical correctness of X-ray images, – technically prepare X-ray images for consultation by a doctor, – perform diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, compile test results, – supervise the use and maintenance of radio-diagnostic, radiotherapy and electromedical equipment, – assess the technical and medical value of the equipment used. The programme also prepares students for work in the telemedicine industry.
