Technological change increasingly cuts across the traditional boundaries of degrees and disciplines. S&T’s Multidisciplinary Studies degree permits students whose interests cross these boundaries to combine study in two or three “focus areas” to create a coherent and academically sound non-traditional program of study. Students design their own program in multidisciplinary programs with a multidisciplinary studies advisor in the Department of Arts, Languages, and Philosophy. What Will You Do With a Multidisciplinary Degree: Graduates are prepared for a variety of careers depending on their selection of focus areas for the degree. A student will typically create the multidisciplinary degree with a profession in mind. For example, a student might combine chemistry and biology as a combined degree as a pre-med option to prepare for medical school. A student interested in law might combine history and philosophy with the pre-law curriculum in preparation for law school. There are many academic options available, and many career options available as a result.
