The Institute aims to study the advanced theory of ocean law, cultivate specialized scholars in public law and private law, and provide reference suggestions for issues related to ocean law to promote the development and utilization of marine resources, thereby ensuring the state's mastery of the ocean and its due rights and interests. The research focus in this department: Issues related to the marine legal system, fisheries, shipping policies, marine and air transport laws, marine environmental protection laws, marine resources (fisheries, marine mining and energy) laws, maritime criminal law, marine policies, and marine regulations across the Taiwan Straits.
