Overview

We offer a range of postgraduate study options, from taught courses to research programmes.

Take a look at our courses, funding and find out how to meet us to help you decide what you want to study. You can find out what our students think at our our PG Café site:

Here are some examples of what our postgraduate students said about us:

Joe’s student profile - E-Business (Information Systems) MSc

"My course is extremely engaging, delivering knowledge through seminars, group activities, guest talks and more. The teaching environment is personal and effective, and staff have an enthusiasm for the subject that really comes through during teaching."

Sam’s student blog How I funded my studies

"The Careers Service here is invaluable. It runs workshops to improve CVs, covering letters and interview techniques, as well as organising specific career events where companies from around the world visit and talk about their opportunities within specific fields."

Emma’s student blog - The Secret Life of a PG Researcher

"Researcher lifestyle is incomparable to anything else I had experienced. If you plan to live like this, make sure you enjoy it and make the most out of it. You might only have a chance in life to learn so many things within such a short period of time. The satisfaction you get is what matters at the end of the day.

International students

If English isn’t your first language, we offer pre-sessional English courses with INTO Newcastle. We also have pathway courses where you can prepare for direct entry onto one of our degrees.

Trust’s student profile - International Business Management MSc

"I would say the most impressive element in this course is student support. As I am an international student and my first language is not English, Newcastle University provides a wide range of language support such as one-to-one tutorial, writing development centre, and series of In-sessional English classes. This is where I can develop my language skills and gain more confidence.

Accommodation

We guarantee international students accommodation for the first year of a course. We also offer help and support if you are looking for private accommodation.

Elmira’s student profile - Biomedical Engineering MSc

"I am currently living in Leazes Terrace, one of the University’s postgraduate accommodations, which is 10 minutes walking distance to the campus. After I received my CAS letter, the university sent me an email which directed me to the accommodation portal, which provides information about each hall of residence. By following the information and instructions, the selection of my accommodation was an easy process.
