CMHC graduation The Master of Science degree in clinical mental health counseling is designed for persons seeking employment in an agency counseling setting. The 60-credit-hour program qualifies students for New York State Licensure - Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Individuals can also apply for national certification as a professional counselor (NCC) and as a clinical mental health counselor (CMHC). Admission Requirements

If you have successfully completed a degree equivalent to the baccalaureate degree in the United States, you are considered a graduate applicant at NU. Other English Language requirements: A TOEFL score of at least 550 (paper exam) is required for admission. Students may take the TOEFL PBT (at least 550 score) until it is discontinued in their area and submit the scores for two years after the test date. If you attend high school where courses are taught in English, an SAT may be submitted in place of the TOEFL or IELTS.
