The Department of Mechanical Engineering (DME) was established to run graduate and undergraduate programs in the field of Mechanical Engineering. In 2006, two-year MS program in Mechanical Engineering was launched. Almost all students of MSME are on fellowships offered mainly by PAEC with some fellowships from NESCOM, KRL and PNRA as well. A few self-financed students have also graduated from MSME program. So far one student has completed his PhD studies from DME, whereas three students are currently enrolled. The department has developed all standard labs required for undergraduate education in the field of mechanical engineering; including engineering mechanics, mechanics of machines, mechanics of materials, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, CAD/CAM, mechanical vibrations, computational mechanics labs.
