The MS Radiation Physics program was launched in 2014 to meet the
requirements of PAEC for expansion of Nuclear Power Program along with
allied Nuclear Fuel Cycle Facilities. The program aims at development of
graduate students in the area of Radiological Protection, Environmental
Dispersion, NPPs impact Monitoring & Dosimetry, Radioactive Waste
Management, Nuclear Emergency Handling, NPPs Site Selection, Reliability
& Risk Assessment and Nuclear Safety Analysis. Department is
equipped with advanced laboratories including Health Physics Lab.,
Radiation Shielding Lab., Radiation Interaction and Detection Lab.,
Environmental Monitoring Lab., Advanced Computational Reactor
Engineering Lab., PWR Simulation Lab., and Hazardous Air Pollutants Lab.
The degree is offered to the students having 2-year M.Sc. Physics
degree or a 4-year B.S. Physics degree.
