The M.Sc. Astronomy program consists of six lecture-based courses (credit may be given for relevant graduate courses already taken), a graduate seminar series, and a research dissertation. Students may pursue original significant research and to become world authorities in any of the areas represented by the faculty members. The program is offered in an environment that features many opportunities for student interaction with faculty and visiting researchers. Students will have access to international observatories and space-based telescopes, Institute for Computational Astrophysics (ICA) with access to the ACEnet high performance computing facility as well as nuclear astrophysics faculty associated with the TRIUMF particle accelerator.
