The Department of Chemistry at Saint Mary’s University offers broad range of courses to provide a rigorous core education in the theory and practice of chemistry. The chemistry professors are committed to engaging undergraduate students in research activities. Motivated students can gain valuable experience as research assistants. Many present their research projects at regional and national conferences. Both the Majors and Honours programs are fully accredited by the Canadian Society for Chemistry. Students must achieve a passing grade in the lab component of a chemistry course in order to be eligible to receive credit for the course.
