The Nursing degree program carried out by Università degli studi di Roma - La Sapienza is a 3 year Bachelor’s degree taught in the English language. The course consists of full time classes and a practical internship adding up to 180 CFU. Exams for the course are organized by the respective professors and can be written or oral based on the professors’ preference. Classes will be carried out on Sapienza’s campus and also in the Faculty building next to Azienda Ospedale Sant’Andrea. Admission to the course is based on an entrance exam also carried out in English. English proficiency exams are not required for admission. This degree consists heavily of a practical internship carried out in the Sant’Andrea Hospital. A total of 1800 working hours are required for graduation from the course. Students will begin internship in the Spring of the 1st year and will be expected to perform the practical responsibilities of a nurse including preparation and administration of medications, bed making, patient hygiene, venous access, catheterizations, etc. The intership is carried out in English for the beginning of the first year however the student is expected to be actively learning Italian to continue the internship. No Italian language exam is required for admission but the internship will be easier for the student with some Italian knowledge.
