As we expand our digital lives, information is crossing borders and networks at a speed and volume that is hard to comprehend. The security of our personal and financial information has hence become a key issue for individuals, industry and government. Cyber-crime has also posed a real and persistent threat to any organisation whose online system has to offer convenient access to legitimate users, and yet be secure enough to prevent hacking and theft. The knowledge, research and strategic thinking skills developed through the Digital Systems Security programme are needed to succeed in this rapidly growing industry, ensuring privacy and preventing crimes. Students in the UOW programme at SIM are eligible to transfer to the Wollongong campus but subject to separate application and enrolment process. Top graduands from the programme are eligible to receive awards from Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies (CSIT) and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).
