New modes of social interaction have emerged, involving intense activity on social media, the use of apps and information technology. Digital materials can easily be modified and manipulated and that influences our access to knowledge, how we present ourselves, and how we see others. You will learn how to analyze the impact of these phenomena on individuals, communities and society as a whole. Digital Culture Studies is a track of the MA Culture Studies. The MA track on Digital Culture Studies is research-oriented. • Research concrete digital-cultural practices from within a broad interdisciplinary social-theoretical field and with an outspoken empirical emphasis.
  • Learn all about social, cultural and political transformation of contemporary societies and investigate the influence of digitalization on social life.
  • Become aware of inclusionary and exclusionary effects in contemporary digital culture, and their impact on social structure.
  • Develop practical skills such as writing, analyzing and interpreting texts and images, critical reflection on societal issues, and participating in public debate.
