Become a Film Director and direct top-quality projects. The objective of this discipline is for you to become a specialist or artist in Directing and Creating Digital Films. Your mission is to create a professional short film, fashion film, teaser, spot, video clip, etc. by using professional cameras on set, exteriors or green screen, to learn how to use visual effects and experience the entire process from the beginning through to the post-production process. You will learn how to use cameras professionally, direct a film and direct actors. You will also learn all about lighting, the audiovisual language, editing and special effects and combine this knowledge to build top notch stories.

Videogame Art

Learn and master the concepts, the techniques and tools to be a successful Environment and Prop Artist. The role of the Environment/Prop Artist is to create worlds. They need to tell a story that will immerse the players in a narrative. They do this through designing and creating all types of assets; like castles, all kinds of vehicles, weapons, etc. An Environment/Prop Artist collaborates with other disciplines like level designers, and other artists, and between them they build and refine the 3D content that will define the game aesthetic and make sure the gameplay flows smoothly.

Illustration Concept-Art

Working for a large illustration, concept, film or video game company is thrilling. Here you will discover all the professional techniques, keys and tricks. We will provide the technical knowledge to take your art to the next level and how to design fantasy worlds, real or fictional, that will later become small or large film, television or video games productions. Your imagination has no limits, discover how to direct your talent towards a future profession. You will learn the basics of professional drawing and delve into composition, vanishing points, framing, perspective, thumbnails and a wide range of concepts before moving on to the next steps of shading, color and texture for environments and characters and achieve professional results. You will create a final portfolio of your work to present at studios and production companies.

Sculpting Extreme

Pixologic Zbrush is a benchmark for organic modeling in Film and Videogames in the industry. Learn to work in Sculpting mode to create the most complex and detailed 3D models on the market. You will learn to design and model characters for different sectors that apply 3D. You will learn about human anatomy and sculpting techniques. From the initial idea to the sculpt, detailing, texturing and implementation. All of this applied to different styles such as cartoon, realism, creatures and any character you can imagine using all the techniques and keys used in the industry.

You will learn to use Zbrush in depth and to combine it with other 3D packages, implementing the power of creation exponentially. Zbrush has been used in films such as Avatar, The Incredible Hulk, The Avengers, The Lord of the Rings. It has also been used in movies and series like The Hobbit, Tron, Star Trek Into Darkness, Iron Man, Pacific Rim, The Amazing Spiderman, the Chronicles of Narnia series, the Pirates of the Caribbean series and in video games like "The Last of Us", "Gears of War", "God of War" or "Assassins Creed", among many others.

The Studio Production

In your last year of training you will work as a REAL PRODUCER with our THE STUDIO PRODUCTION program, which offers the advice and training needed for the development all types of projects. Work alone or assemble your own team, take advantage of our know-how and all our facilities. Finish your training with a successful project and a professional demo-reel.

During this 9-month program you will work on a real project and manage objectives, schedules, deadlines like in a real company. You will learn to work the same way as in a real video game or film development studio by creating a real project; your project.

A master’s course at Universal Arts School consists of two years of learning – with the option of either a single master’s or a double master’s in the same amount of time – or four years. A five-year option is also available. UA School offers a wide range of subjects, which include:

  • Concept artist (2-5 years) 
  • Videogame developer or programmer (2-5 years)
  • Videogame artist (2-5 years)
  • Film director (4-5 years)
  • Character animator (2-4 years) 


For two-year courses, students can focus on either a single master’s or a double master’s across 24 months. Learning takes place either on campus, online, or a combination of the two. 

Four-year courses are designed specifically for jobs in high demand, and aims to open doors to jobs within the sector. Students can take advantage of grants and study at discounted rates. 

Programmes running for five years guarantee the highest level of skill and leave graduated with two fullstack qualifications – some of the strongest skill levels in the industry. A discount of 50% is available on the second of the two fullstack programmes. 

The UA School Acceleration Programme offers candidates the chance to develop skills and experience using the Universal Arts School facilities and training – but for their own business. Ideal for startups, small businesses or just for gaining practical experience in the sector, the UA School Acceleration Programme lasts for nine months. Students already enrolled on a UA School master’s course take part in the Acceleration Programme as part of their studies in order to graduate. 

Tuition fees are payable either in full or split between payments on organised financial plans. Students benefit from discounts on multiple programmes of study.  

Universal Arts School offers student finance schemes and help-to-study programmes for those facing economic challenges. Financing programmes are offered through Spanish banks – students can check the website to find out if they’re eligible for funding. Discounts are available on courses that combine multiple award or subject areas. 

Students can apply to study at Universal Arts School through the online admissions portal. UA School applicants need to input their prior education details and select the location, subject area and type of study. Although there are no mandatory levels of prior learning required, all applications need to undertake an admissions test to gauge their level of understanding and experience within the industry.
