The UC3M Master's Degree in Archiving is aimed at the training of high-level specialists in the management of documents and archives, from historical to digital. And it provides comprehensive training, which includes the comprehensive life cycle of documents, from their design and production in organizations, to their permanent preservation. Taught by prestigious specialists, it offers training geared towards the demand of an expanding job market. The total number of credits is 90 distributed as follows:

  • Teaching program (theoretical and practical classes): 60 credits
  • Seminars: 8 credits
  • Professional internships: 14 credits
  • Project: 8 credits
The credits corresponding to the teaching program will be obtained by evaluating the knowledge acquired in each of the modules through individual or group work, continuous assessment and objective tests as a whole. To obtain the title, it is necessary to pass all the modules, the Master's Final Project and the favorable report of the internship period (which may be validated for those students who work as archivists for an equivalent or longer period of time during the course).

Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) offers 159 master programs and 20 doctoral programs in the varying fields of investigative research ongoing at the University. Over 40% are taught in English. 

The programs are organized into four Schools, encompassing the areas of Law; Business and Economics; Humanities, Communication and Social Sciences; and Engineering and Basis Sciences. The Madrid-Puerta de Toledo Campus, home to the bulk of the master programs, is located in the cultural and historic heart of Madrid, one of Europe’s great capital cities.  

A total of 27.3% of the students enrolled in the master programs hail from other countries, drawn by the prospect of pursuing studies in English at an international campus in Madrid.  Among doctoral candidates, the percentage of international students reaches 44.8%.
