The challenges that arise in this scenario have to do with the variety and diversity of data types and formats, with their volatility and availability, with the speed at which they must be transferred and processed, with the capacity for decision-making in based on them, and with the need to guarantee their veracity, correctness and integrity. The Degree in Data Science and Engineering of the Polytechnic School of Engineering of Gijón seeks to train professionals who can effectively and efficiently face these challenges, which require a multidisciplinary student profile, capable of demonstrating skills in the fields of computing, mathematics and statistics. The degree is offered blended, in which face-to-face training activities account for 20% of the time, online training activities for another 20%, and the rest of the student activities for 60%, with the exception of Work subjects.
