The PhD in Education is a pedagogical proposal that arises in response to the need—present both in the country and in the region—to train highly qualified researchers in the educational field. It is hoped that, upon completion of the postgraduate course, Doctors in Education will be able to develop original and innovative research that provides solutions to the main current educational problems. The three-year initiative constitutes a substantial contribution to the development of professionals in the educational field by encouraging interdisciplinary research and promoting specialized systematic studies. Furthermore, the training is aimed at strengthening the research competence of students, as well as developing the capacity for analysis and interpretation of educational phenomena.

Admission Requirements
To pursue a PhD in Education, candidates must have undergraduate and postgraduate training, with the profiles indicated below:
Degree training- Uruguayan university degree, degree obtained at a foreign university (with official recognition in the country of origin), or Uruguayan teaching degree (issued by teacher training institutes dependent on or authorized by the National Public Education Administration).
Postgraduate training- Master's degree or postgraduate specialization, obtained from an academic center with official recognition.
